I can’t believe this is the last full day of my cruise! Where did the time go? I’m not going to lie, even though I’ve been having a blast on this cruise, I’m just as excited to get off and meet my husband for part two of my trip – Disney World!
But first, let’s talk about Day 8 of my cruise. In this blog post you’ll read about my last port stop in Bimini and visiting the Virgin Voyages Beach Club. I’ll also talk about breakfast at The Galley, joining a bungee workout class, my final dinner at Pink Agave, and catching untitleddanceshowpartything on my last night. Keep reading to find out how I spent one of my last days on the cruise!

The Infamous Bungee Class
Every time I did research on what to expect on a Virgin Voyages cruise, I would always read that the bungee classes fill up as soon as passengers board the cruise ship. Since I boarded with the 3:45 PM group, all of the bungee classes were full by the time I got onboard. I didn’t lose hope though! On the evening of Day 7, I was looking through the app and saw a bungee class become available at 10:30 AM the next morning. Done!

What is a bungee class, you ask? Exactly what it sounds like. There are 6 sets bungee cords affixed to the ceiling that you bounce from. The room is actually gorgeous with floor to ceiling windows and full sea views. Pro tip: Don’t get discouraged if you don’t snag a bungee class. Go to the class you want because chances are someone signed up for it and won’t show up. Case in point: Two people no-showed to our class, but the app showed that it was full.
My bungee class was a 20-minute HIIT workout (low impact alternative moves provided) doing various positions using the bungee. I did push ups, lunges, went upside down, went completely around, and more. It was so much fun bouncing around, and I ended up burning about 200 calories in 20 minutes. The instructor leaves the last few minutes for taking pictures and videos and cleaning up. I would totally do this class again!
Breakfast at The Galley
I feel like breakfast at The Galley is totally underrated. Not only are there a plethora of dining options, but you can eat quickly with beautiful sea views. I’ve enjoyed every time I’ve dined here, and breakfast this morning was no different.

First I stopped by Let’s Taco Bout It to try their two versions of egg benedicts: one was a classic florentine while the other was a carne asada on a tortilla. Both were egg-cellent. I also stopped by Well-Bread to pick up a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich and a strawberry heart-shaped danish.

What else is in The Galley for breakfast? At the bento place you can pick up boxes of fresh fruit and yogurt. At the Burger Bar you could get pancakes, french toast, and a french toast burger. At the Daily Mix, which usually serves salad, they have an array of bagels and smears in addition to hot and cold cereals. Diner and Dash has the classic breakfast spread with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, omelettes, and even beans. The Noodle Station served the same food as Diner and Dash to lessen the crowds. Hot Off the Press, the sandwich place, had a bunch of breakfast sandwiches (i.e. ham and cheese panini). Plenty of options!
Docking in Bimini
We docked in Bimini early in the morning, and everyone received a message on their app around 7 AM that we had docked. If I wanted to get a seat by the party pool at the Beach Club, I would’ve gotten off the ship as soon as we docked. However, since I knew I’d just want to check it out and not hang around, I decided to skip the crowded morning disembarkation and go later in the afternoon. If you want the best selection of pool or beach seats – disembark early.

How to Get to the Beach Club
When I disembarked the ship, I walked about 5 minutes following the signs for “free shuttle.” Since I was there in the afternoon, there was no line and I was able to hop on an open air shuttle bound for the beach club. Note: If you’re a Rockstar, you’ll get whisked away in your own private golf cart.

The shuttle first stops at Fisherman’s Village, a small outdoor shopping area with a bar, souvenir shops, and clothing shops. You would get off here if you signed up for a shore excursion through Virgin Voyages. The next stop after the Fisherman’s Village was the Beach Club at Bimini, and you can’t miss it as you’ll feel the bass from a mile away.

Overall, the shuttle ride from ship to beach club took about 10 minutes. You can walk from the ship to Fisherman’s Village and hop on the shuttle from there, but know that the walk will take about 15 minutes while vendors will try to entice you to rent their golf carts.
The Bimini Beach Club Layout
The beach club covers a pretty large area! Picture a strip of beach with a large pool area just before. There’s a handy map right at the entrance, and everything is laid out to prevent guests from crowding certain areas. There are two dining spots serving exactly the same menus on either side of the beach club, as well as drink stations for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. You can use your bracelet to buy cocktails for a hands-free experience!

There are paths that go from one side of the beach club to the other, and they take about 5 minutes to walk across the entire space. The private shaded Rockstar area overlooking the beach is all the way on the south side. There are cabanas and airstreams and even shipping containers that guests can pre-book for their beach club day.
While the layout makes navigating the beach club pretty easy, I found that there was not a lot of shade to be found, unless you’re sitting away from the pool or lucky enough to find a beach chair with an umbrella. I think I saw more sunburned humans this day than my entire life put together!
Lunch at Beach Eats
I walked to both Beach Eats locations to make sure they were the same, and I can confirm they served exactly the same menu. The location on the south side is closer to the quieter Rockstar area, while the location on the north side is right behind the DJ booth at the pools. The hours of both locations were 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Take your pick!

The menu was fairly standard beach food, but I was impressed with the quality considering everything was mass produced and sitting under heat lamps. I had the jerk chicken, lechon asado, rice and beans, fried cassava, and a rum cake. I later went back to try the corn as well (wasn’t good, would skip this one). The jerk chicken was more of a wet jerk, but super tangy and flavorful. The lechon asado, or pulled pork, had a nice saltiness and wasn’t overly dry. The fried cassava was whatever, it tasted like a less delicious potato. My favorite, though, was the rum cake. That was had the most rum flavor I’ve ever tasted in a cake before – I loved it!

It’s important for me to let you know that flies are abundant on the beach club, especially near the food. Each table has one of those fans that are supposed to keep the flies away. I mean, you’re outdoors where bugs live so you’ll be swatting a fly or two away, but don’t be surprised. It didn’t affect my experience, but maybe if you travel during a less windy period the flies could be worse.

Bimini Beach Club Entertainment
After all this talk about getting to the beach club, the layout, and eating lunch, you’re probably wondering what there is to do here. On the app, there are a couple of activities that were listed: a Float On Party and an Adults Summer Camp. Other than those two activities, your goal is to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sun either at the pool or beach. You can also play cornhole or lounge in a hammock – the world is your oyster!

I stayed at the beach club long enough to see the Float On Party, but not the Summer Camp. The camp was listed as fun adult games on the beach, so I imagine there was some soft of friendly competition happening in the sand.
The Float On Party took place at the pool on the north side right by the DJ booth. The Happenings Cast came out with what seemed like 50 adorable pool floats and started throwing them to people in the pool. Once the pool looked like a mass of flamingos and doughnuts, the cast did several dances and walked around with bubble guns hyping everyone up. From what I saw, people were having a blast dancing, singing, and enjoying the vibes. This is not the place to be if you want to quietly read your kindle, but it’s definitely right place if you enjoy a party.
Back to The Dock
After I scouted out the beach club, I took the shuttle back to Fisherman’s Village and then walked back to the ship. The shuttle actually stops at the Resorts World Casino on the return, but not on the way to the beach club. The walk back to the ship took about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace, and there was a table with fruit infused water waiting at the embarkation area. As became my tradition on this cruise, I headed over to The Dock to witness our last sunset.

My Last Dinner at Pink Agave
Only I didn’t catch the sunset, because silly me made a dinner reservation at 5:45 PM at Pink Agave. Whoops! There was no way I could find another well-timed dinner reservation on the last night, so after reading at The Dock for a bit I headed down for my last dinner at Pink Agave.

This time at Pink Agave, I tried a few different dishes. Firstly, I was served an amuse bouche of spiced mixed nuts straight from the oven. Then I went with an appetizer of seared shrimp with yellow mole and fingerling potatoes. This was so good! The shrimp were perfectly cooked at the mole had a nice complex flavor.

I think 8 days of eating heavy cruise food was finally catching up to me because for my main course I went with the vegan option: chile relleno. This was a grilled pepper (not spicy) filled with mashed potato and swimming in a bed of tangy salsa verde. Unfortunately, this one didn’t hit as hard as I’d have liked. The texture of the pepper and potatoes was all mush, and there was little flavor to be found. Do me a favor and skip this dish, and instead go for the grilled skirt steak with Oaxacan cheese that everyone raves about.

I couldn’t leave Pink Agave without getting the chocolate tacos again. Man were those good. Something about the soft cookie taco shells and the salty-sweet dulce de leche had me borderline obsessed. In fact, maybe I’ll look at a copycat recipe online to try to replicate it at home.

And My Last Show: UntitledDanceShowPartyThing
After dinner it was time to catch the last show on the ship! I was a bit hesitant to attend this one because, well, look at the title. The description didn’t do a better job at describing what this show entailed, but given it was in the Red Room I thought it would be a sit down show. I was wrong.

This show was like an avant-garde interpretative dance experience. The entire Red Room was turned into a dance floor with a moveable catwalk and a few dance perches for the dancers. There were neon lights, a blow up whale, a heart-shaped piñata, videos of talking cats, etc. A portion of the show was reserved for everyone on the dance floor doing the electric slide, macarena, and more before coming together in a conga line.

It was weird and wild and some people were totally up for it. Me? About halfway through I went to the upstairs section to watch so the dancers wouldn’t come up to me and encourage me to dance. There wasn’t a story I could gather from this show, but more like social commentary about various types of people (the influencer, the jock, the nervous person, etc.) coming together over dancing. If I were to catch this show again, I would make sure I was adequately inebriated and with friends to have the best time.
It’s Debarkation Already?
And with that, we’re onto the last morning of the cruise – Day 9! The great thing about Virgin Voyages is that they allow a debarkation time as late as 10:30 AM so you can still enjoy bottomless mimosas at The Wake or scarf down the amazing Razzle Cake at Razzle Dazzle before heading off the ship. Stay tuned for my next blog post where I cover waking up in Miami, how I spent my last morning, and how the debarkation process went!
