St. Barths was hands down the destination I booked the most last year. The allure of the island makes it so that luxury travelers keep coming back year after year. Sometimes even twice a year! You’ll recall I wrote blog posts about my two favorite luxury hotels on the island, Cheval Blanc St. Barths and Eden Rock St. Barths, and they boast two of the trendiest restaurants you’ll find on this list. Since I book St. Barths so often, I wanted to share my list of the trendiest (and most booked) restaurants on this elite island. Keep reading to find out!
About Dining in St. Barths
Making dining reservations in St. Barths can be tricky. During peak season, most restaurants strictly adhere to two seatings: one that’s always a bit too early, and one that’s always a bit too late. This goes for both lunch and dinner. If you’re traveling with kids, you’ll likely want to book the earlier seating as typically the later seatings are adult-only or adult-centric. Some restaurants don’t allow kids during second seatings, so check with the restaurant before you confirm.
Another thing to note is that reservations open up a month or two prior. The luxury hotel concierges on the island are masters at knowing when restaurant bookings will open. They also often have relationships with popular restaurants meaning they can get reservations easily. If you’re traveling with big groups or during peak season, some restaurants require you to put down a credit card to confirm your reservation. I highly recommend working with a travel agent (like me!) to secure your bookings as it can be incredibly overwhelming.

There are Atelier Joel Robuchon restaurants all over the world, but the one in St. Barths is special. As you may already know, Atelier Joel Robuchon St. Barths is an upscale restaurant in Gustavia, known for its contemporary French cuisine.
The restaurant offers a refined dining experience with a menu featuring traditional French dishes with modern twists, all prepared with meticulous attention to detail. The restaurant boasts an elegant ambiance with views of the bustling harbor and an open kitchen concept. The menu here features signature dishes such as La Langoustine, a dish showcasing langoustine carpaccio with caviar, and Le Caviar Imperial, a delicate creation featuring caviar on a bed of creamy whipped potatoes.
Atelier Joel Robuchon St. Barths

This restaurant is separated by the rooftop, with a smaller menu, and the main dining room downstairs with the full menu. I highly recommend arriving early for sunset drinks on the roof followed by dinner in the dining room downstairs. Bar seating downstairs is highly coveted and offers the classic Atelier Joel Robuchon experience.
Bagatelle
For those that love good energy, upbeat music, and a party vibe – Bagatelle is for you. This is a stylish restaurant in Gustavia known for its French-Mediterranean cuisine. It offers a vibrant atmosphere with chic decor and lively music, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.

Make a reservation for Friday night for the best experience (everyone is up dancing into the wee hours of the night) and the weekdays for a more tame experience.
Sella
A relatively new restaurant on the island of St. Barths having opened in early 2022, Sella has become a staple in the trendy dining scene. Coming from the hebrew word for “rock”, the restaurant pays homage to its Caribbean and Israeli roots.

La Guerite Gustavia + Beach Restaurant
From my experience, this restaurant is popular with big groups! There are two La Guerite restaurants on the island: one in Gustavia (open for dinner) and one on St. Jean Beach (open for lunch and beach club seating). La Guerite St. Barths is a waterfront restaurant in Gustavia known for its Mediterranean cuisine. Guests can enjoy a relaxed island ambiance on the terrace with panoramic views of the bay and neighboring islands.

Le Tamarin
Tamarin is my pick for the most romantic restaurant on St. Barths. Set in a lush garden, upon entrance guests are greeted by a stunning giant tamarind tree hugged by fairy lights. The ambiance, unlike the loud DJ occupied hotspots on the island, is quiet and serene with the tables spaced out for privacy. I dined solo on my visit here and I felt as if I was on a romantic date with myself.

The restaurant offers covered seating in the colonial garden house or outdoor seating in the garden under the stars. I highly recommend dining in the garden for the most romantic experience. The menu features upscale French cuisine using fresh local ingredients, and the cocktail list is not to be missed. This serene restaurant is located uphill toward the center of the island, less than 10 minutes from Eden Rock. All of this makes for a great romantic date!
Nikki Beach
Yes, I’m talking about THE Nikki Beach found in trendy hotspots all over the world. Nikki Beach St. Barths is a luxurious beach club and restaurant located on the pristine sands of St. Jean Beach. You can actually see Eden Rock St. Barths from Nikki Beach making for a short commute if you’re staying there!

La Cabane is a must for any luxury traveler looking to dine at a trendy seaside restaurant. One of the gems of the Cheval Blanc St. Barth, La Cabane is tucked away on the far side of the property opening up to a gorgeous view of Flamands Bay.

The menu is light yet robust, being only open for lunch. I had a delicious artichoke salad with a deep fried soft boiled egg (yes, you read that right) and freshly grilled fish. The music playing is hip and upbeat giving a buzzy laid back vibe. I always book La Cabane at least twice for clients traveling to St. Barths as it’s one of the best places to see and be seen.
I also highly recommend Cheval Blanc’s dinner restaurant, La Case. Headed by Chef Jean Imbert, this fine dining establishment should definitely be on your list for dinner. I wrote about my dinner experience on my Cheval Blanc blog post. The wine list is to die for!
The Sand Bar
The legendary Sand Bar at Eden Rock St. Barths is not to be missed. With incredible views of St. Jean beach and multiple opportunities for plane spotting while you dine, there’s little that can beat the experience of dining here.

In classic St. Barths style, there is a DJ playing upbeat tunes and making sure the vibe is right. The menu consists of gourmet classics, such as truffle pizza and lobster rolls. You even have the option to splurge on a bit of caviar with your meals. I love the signature Eden Rock red mixed with fun tropical accents (hello, rattan monkey hanging from the fan!) and chic decor. I highly recommend dining here more than once!
Fish Corner
If all of the restaurants on this list are for seeing and being seen, Fish Corner is the opposite. Everyone talks about Fish Corner because the food is so good, however you won’t find many tables at this small restaurant. Tucked on a quiet side street in Gustavia, Fish Corner has been around for a few years serving up drool-worthy seafood dishes. The restaurant is the epitome of “hidden gem” – make sure to get reservations in advance!

Final Thoughts
There are so many fantastic restaurants on the tiny island of St. Barths. The French have a reputation for excellent food (I mean, did you read my blog about the 7 amazing courses at Airelles Versailles?) , and this island is no different. The trendiest restaurants in St. Barths have a combination of great vibes, good food, and chic decor. The entire island is a place to socialize and be seen, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have good food! Go to any of these 13 restaurants on this list and you’ll be in for a memorable time.
